"Having worked with the State Farm team in Lakewood Ohio for over 25 years I am comfortable providing an online review. We have several types of policies and some change more often than others. When they do our questions are patiently listened to and answered. With the SF team we can evaluate options, consider risk and keep costs in mind for our family decisions. "If you're thinking about using State Farm for insurance, don't. My family has had State Farm for years & just recently had our first homeowners claim. We have had nothing but issues dealing with State Farm, from lack of communication to now not wanting to pay our claim amount. They referred us to a preferred water remediation company who guessed on our materials (flooring) but used that as a basis to determine our replacement values even after showing proof of purchase for previous materials. Didn't send out an adjuster for 2 months & are now claiming the measurements are less than what the water remediation company provided so they are denying to pay for those areas. When asked to see the measurements the field adjuster provided, that request has been denied. Although State Farm may be cheaper monthly, they will cost you thousands if you ever have a claim. Oh, & I did call my agent to see if they could help us at all, & have not heard a thing back from them either. Save yourself some heartache & get insurance literally anywhere else. Edit since I cannot respond to my agent's response: Water damage is covered under my policy regardless of the source. If State Farm had the opportunity to deny our claim entirely, they absolutely would have. Let's not pretend the circus my family has been put through for over 2 months was some sort of favor. Additionally, your response shows your complete lack of understanding of the issues we are having even though I called & thoroughly explained to Billy well over a month ago. Just a clear reminder that agents are here to collect money, not actually take care of customers."

"Dear Latishia, We understand that unexpected damages can be stressful, and State Farm strives to handle all claims fairly according to the terms of the policy. We did extend coverage for the damage related to your fish tank, which is great because birds, fish and animal are excluded from coverage. It’s important to note that restoration companies’ estimates often tend to be higher, as they are motivated by their business needs. It's absolutely in THEIR best interest for you to replace all your flooring, but the policy states we will replace what is damaged in a covered loss, and indemnify you. As the insurer responsible for payment, we must ensure that all estimates and measurements are fair and accurate. That is also what help keep rates as low as possible for all of our customers. When our adjuster conducted an on-site assessment, the measurements differed from those provided by the restoration company, which is not uncommon. We appreciate your understanding as we work to balance thoroughness with fairness, and we hope you find the best path forward for your home. Sincerely, Lindsay Perrico State Farm Insurance"

"There was a small mixup with my bank account being incorrectly overcharged. I had been told I couldn’t get immediately refunded the full amount overcharged (the money would be refunded over the course of 12 months). Lindsay personally called me and apologized. Within a couple days, I received an email that I would be getting the refund. Excellent customer service and VERY kind staff! I will definitely keep my business here moving forward."
